Primero que nada nombraré algunas de las redes que hay en la universidad:
- guest
- eduroam
- KvK
- tue-wpa2
- tue
guest es una red para gente ajena a la universidad a la que para conectarse hay que pedir permiso antes.
eduroam es una red inter-universitaria que no sé exactamente como funciona pero que por lo visto puedes conectarte al sistema de cualquier universidad europea siempre y cuando tengas acceso. O sea, en mi caso, para conectarme a la red interna de la Universitat Politècnica de València desde cualquier punto de acceso "eduroam".
La red
KvK es una red que sólo encontraréis en el bar del
Kennispoort y que és libre.
tue-wpa2 es una red con sistema de seguridad WPA2 y para conectarte sólo necesitas tu número de usuario s-number de la TU/e y la contraseña que te dan con la matrícula. Al seleccionarla te pedirá que aceptes un certificado. Hazlo.
Esta red es un poco más lenta que la tue y tiene muchos menos puntos de acceso pero es muy fácil conectarse.
La red tue es a la que es más difícil conectarse pero la que más puntos de acceso tiene y más rápida va.
Lo primero que tienes que hacer es ir al
Notebook Service Center (NSC) que está en la biblioteca, llamada
de hal, en la planta baja, nada más entras, a la izquierda. Una vez ahí tenéis que pedir que os sincronicen la MAC de vuestra tarjeta de red con vuestro nombre de usuario. O sea, decir que os queréis conectar a internet y no sabéis cómo. Os añadirán el nombre de usuario y la MAC a una base de datos y... ahora pueden pasar dos cosas:
1. Como me ha pasado hoy al ir, que me lo han configurado todo.
2. Que te digan como al resto de la gente que sólo dan servicio a Windows. Si este es tu caso, sigue leyendo...
Lo primero que tienes que hacer es cambiar el nombre de tu Mac y ponerle exactamente tu s-number. Para hacer esto entra en Preferencias del Sistema, Compartir y haz click en Editar... ahí pones tu s-number. En mi caso me queda seguido de .local o sea s044444.local
El siguiente paso es configurar tu Wireless. Haz click en el icono del AirPort de la barra superior y entra en Acceder a otra red. En nombre de la red pon tue\s-number en Seguridad WEP 802.1X, en usuario tu s-number y en contraseña la de la matrícula. Click en Acceder, aceptáis el certificado y listo.

First of all I will name some of the avaiable networks at the campus:
- guest
- eduroam
- KvK
- tue-wpa2
- tue
guest is a network for people from outside the university. You have to ask for access somewhere.
eduroam is an european network that it is useful to get access to your home university private zone.
KvK is a free network only available at the Kennispoort bar.
tue-wpa2 is a WPA2 secured network. To connect it you will only need you s-number and the password from your enrolment and to accept the certificate.
tue is the most used network due to the quantity of access points and its velocity but also the most difficult to connect.
The first thing to do is to go to the Notebook Service Center (NSC) at the library, called de hal at the basement to the left from the entrance. What you have to do there is to sincronize your MAC number of your network card with your s-number. You can say this or just that it is your first time at the TU/e and you want to get internet access. Now you can spect two things:
1. Like it happened to me today that they configured everything.
2. They can also say that they only support Windows users. Keep reading if this is your case!

Next step is to configure your Wireless. Click the AirPort icon at the top bar and click on Access to another network. At the name write tue\s-number, in Security choose WEP 802.1X, in write down the s-number and the password from the enrolment. Click Access and everythin is done!
